clay together

As part of my Artist in Training Programme with the British Ceramics Biennial I delivered a ‘Clay Together’ session at the BCB studio. The sessions are aimed at bringing people together through making with clay, and are a great opportunity for people to learn new skills and relax in a calm environment. With the group, I created porcelain ‘BBQ bunting’ which can be used for outdoor summer feasts and parties. With the translucent qualities of porcelain, this is perfect, as the sun will shine through.
The session was really successful, even though only a small amount of people signed up. We used foliage, fabrics and tools to create textures in the clay and the results were lovely.
