self portrait

The idea for these self portrait pieces have been translated into both glass and ceramics. The piece, created with glass is constructed of several screen-printed sheets of float glass, placed in a specific order to give a feel of space and perspective. The porcelain tubes, also screen-printed are created using an extruder, then screen printed onto using a tissue-paper transfer method. By creating 2 versions of this piece, I was able to use different materials and techniques and explore both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional forms. This project was part of a screen-printing, self portrait project I did in my second year of Uni which was taught by Jeffrey Sarmiento.
